Hudson Hope to Fort St John-the trip ends
Well, we got to tour today like a lot of people tour. We threw our panniers in the folks camper, and just kept what we would need for the day, like tools and some food.
It's and easy ride to Hudson Hope, but after that it gets pretty hard pretty quick. You spend a lot of time following the hill up out of the river valley, to have it drop back in again. So you end up spending most of the day going uphill on a bike. e did meet an older fellow riding from his home in Hudson Hope to Fort St. John, where his wife was going to pick him up.
The Peace River valley is so beautiful. The vistas of the river and valley are always spectacular. The road isn't in great shape, but there isn't much traffic on it either. It crtainly isn't a fast trip, with all the hills, but is a pleasant ride none the less. We even had a tailwind for most of the trip. It certainly a good workout. I'd love to know how much climbing is involved in that ride. Maybe I'm biased, having grown up in the Peace area, but I think its one of the most beautiful areas anywhere.
It was supper time by the time we made it to Mom's place, and the end of our ride - for this year.
Distance 85 km.
